The judge, Tim Saternow, offered these kind words: "Sunny Flowers uses hard and soft edges to define the beauty of these bright yellow flowers, while giving us a feeling of mystery and delicacy. An excellent example of 'negative painting,' the petals emerge from the darkness of the leaves below, a contrast in brightness. This is an incredibly satisfying painting."
