This painting was born, as many things are, out of frustration. Photographs of the night sky never catch the subtleties of the colors, light, or values. Analog, digital, and phone cameras? FAIL!

So, I tried painting. Outside, I observed. Inside, I painted. Back and forth. Watercolor turned out to be a wonderful medium for capturing the soft transitions, the glowing light, the weight of shadow.
