Every object we paint has edges — outer edges, inner edges, and shadow edges.
Any place that color and value shift there is an edge.
These transitions are essential in describing shape, volume, space, and movement.
In this workshop, we'll identify the various types of edges and explore how they function.
We'll look at some master paintings to see great edges at work.
We'll practice making the various edges to prepare us for working them into our own paintings.
