NITA ENGLE WATERCOLOR TECHNIQUES
Saturday, AUGUST 29, 1–4
and again on
Sunday, AUGUST 30, 10–4
(Space is limited. If there's a lot of interest, I will run the workshop again on Sunday, August 30. If you could only come on Sunday, please email me.)
Workshop will be held at my house, 14 Village Road, Surry, NH, just north of Keene.
$135 (includes lots of tools and materials as well as drinks, snacks, and lunch)
TEXTURE + LIGHT She sprayed, spattered, and stamped to create stunning images infused with detail, mystery, and luminosity. We'll try out many of her techniques and tools to create our own works.
Workshop is based on her book "How to a Make Watercolor Paint Itself." Should be a lot of fun and possibly a bit crazy.
TOOLS + MATERIALS Many of the tools and paints Engle used will be here for your use. We're talking various spray bottles, sponges, brushes, palette knives, masking fluid, applicators, and such.
SUBJECTS Engle mostly painted landscapes, seascapes, woods, lakes, mountains, and rivers. I'm considering the possibility of all of us going to paint on Surry Dam overlooking Surry Lake after lunch. This would be dependent on the weather and our interest. If we don't go, I will have photographs that we could work from.
BRING You are also welcome to bring your own images to work from. Don't forget your own usual watercolor supplies — paints (especially transparent colors), brushes, water containers, etc.
PROVIDED Many tools and materials will be available for your use. Canson XL watercolor paper will be available for your experiments. Some of the same and similar high-quality watercolor paper and board that Engle used will be provided to each artist.
Tea, morning nibbles, and a simple lunch will be provided.
INTERESTED? Please let me know via email.
The workshop is full but things are always changing.
I will do my best to make room for you!
